What do you love the most about being a property manager?

My favorite thing is getting to know the residents and making sure they feel at home in the community instead of feeling like it’s just another signed lease. I also love the journey that I get to take with people when they are choosing their new home. I like to hear their stories and help them nd a home that ts their needs and wants.

How did you wind up in Property Management?

What interests and experiences lead you down this path?

Before landing in property management, I worked in journalism and restaurant management and thoroughly enjoyed the people part of my jobs. I love to talk!

Why did you want to work for Lux?

Even though I’m new to the Fargo area, I’ve always had my sights set on working for Lux Communities. Lux wholly embraces new technologies and the ever-evolving industry that is property management. I was deeply impressed by newly opened properties such as The Retreat and 300lime. The design and amenities were so fresh and innovative! Also, I heard so many great things about Lux, especially that they treat their employees well by making them an integral part of the team. I can denitely tell you that I have yet to be disappointed. I’m excited to see what the future holds with my time at Lux!

Share a little about your personal life…

Though I was born in California and grew up in Arizona, I’ve lived in a number of dierent cities all over the US – Austin, Texas, Daytona Beach, Florida and North Dakota. I rst moved to North Dakota during the tail end of the oil boom and settled in the Williston and Watford City areas. I was surprised (as were my family and friends) by how much I fell in love with North Dakota given that I’ve lived in mostly warm, southern places. I’ve even developed a “mostly positive” attitude about the winter! Currently, my husband, Andrew, and I are searching for our next fur baby. Our beloved Shepherd mix, Ringo, recently passed away and we’re hoping to adopt our next “kid” here soon. So, if you know of a dog that needs to be rescued, give me a call! I was fortunate to have been raised by a family that loves camping, shing, hiking and exploring.
Then, I was lucky to nd a partner who loves to do the same things! However, no matter what activity I’m doing, I’m always listening to music at the same time. My taste in music is eclectic and I love seeing it live. The best concert experience of my life, so far, has been seeing Paul McCartney in Los Angeles in 2006. Needless to say, my favorite song is When I’m 64 by the Beatles, my all-time beloved band.
